Birchtree Psychology provides psychological therapy that is evidence based and individually tailored. The therapeutic approaches used include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Trauma-focused CBT, Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Motivational Interviewing and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Short term and longer term therapy is available.


Busy lives and work and family commitments sometimes make it difficult for people to access the psychological support they need. Online therapy can be a more convenient way of attending psychology sessions as there is no need to travel. All you need is a quiet space and a good Internet connection.


Birchtree Psychology is committed to making psychological services accessible, and offers online therapy and consultation for adults (individuals and couples). In this case, the sessions take place using Zoom, an online meeting platform.


Whilst online therapy can work well for a range of psychological and relationship difficulties, it is not always suitable, as sometimes more support is needed. These kinds of situations are, for example, if there is a risk of harm to yourself or someone else, and/or there are child protection concerns. Under these circumstances face-to-face therapy is recommended.
